Basically you get the cheese and go back to your hole. And the shaman's purpose is to help you get there if s/he feels like it and s/he has various items with which to do this, but basically they can do whatever they want and sometimes they trick you into falling or just, like, knock you off with a cannonball thing or whatever. And usually the top two people in terms of points (which you acquire by getting cheese) become shaman.
